System Cardiovascular Service Line Executive

The flagship of their System is one of the premier academic medical centers in the nation, ranked as one of "America?s Best Hospitals" and has Magnet designation. They seek an experienced and dynamic administrative executive to lead their cardiovascular service line. Physicians at the organization performed the world's first successful open-heart surgery and over the years revolutionary discoveries have continued including the first functional heart lung machine, the first successful artificial heart valve, the first portable pacemaker, and the first heart transplant in the region. The program also has received some recent accolades including being ranked #1 in the state for Cardiac Care, Cardiology Services, and Interventional Procedures in 2008 according to HealthGrades, as well as a top 5% ranking nationally for the treatment of acute coronary (STEMI) syndrome, acute cardiac interventions for survival rate and door-to-dilation times. Additionally U.S. News and World Report?s 2008 survey rated them in the top 50 hospital's nationally for heart and heart surgery demonstrating their commitment and dedication to quality.

The service line offers comprehensive care for every stage of cardiovascular disease; including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease and extensive cardiac rehabilitation services. As Service Line Executive, you will be accountable for the successful integration and overall effectiveness of the full range of services and programs offered. You will have the unique opportunity to be directly involved in the development of the service line?s strategic plan shaping their vision to achieve their lofty goal of being a "Top 10" program. In this highly visible, mission-critical position, you will work collaboratively in a matrix environment with physician leaders, administration, and all clinical and ancillary departments to align resources and gain support for cardiovascular initiatives. You will serve as a catalyst to drive growth, track service line performance using financial and quality measures, and proactively build positive relationships within the system and in the community. The director will promote the history, reputation and cutting edge research through marketing initiatives that grow the top line and differentiate their product.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, high energy, and possess a positive and resilient attitude. The ability to lead change, build relationships, and lead through influence is also essential.
