The Synergy Organization has been retained by a financially secure,
not-for-profit integrated Health Network to recruit a leader for their System’s
Finance department. This stable organization has over 6,000 employees and
consists of four hospitals, a rehabilitation hospital, a behavioral health
center, as well as other health care entities. They have continued to invest
significant capital into their long-term growth strategy and have planed
numerous construction expansion and renovation projects. Their flagship hospital
is a level-1 trauma center with affiliations with several prominent Schools of
Medicine to provide an academic environment to over 120 residents as well as
Centers of Excellence such as Pediatrics, Regional Cancer Network, and Heart
Center. Over the recent years they have received multiple awards, including
being named a Hospital of Choice, Most Wired, One of America’s Best Hospitals
in Cardiology & Open Heart Surgery, a Top Coding Hospital and a Best Place
to Work in their region.
In this highly visible position, the AVP of Finance will function as the
controller at the System level and have multiple areas including general
accounting, payroll, accounts payable, ledger, financial reporting, budgeting,
and cash management. This person will have the opportunity to attend the Board’s
Finance committee meetings and will play a role in working through the process
of issuance of future bonds. This individual will lead System finance
initiatives such as adding a measure of productivity to the budget process,
incorporating additional technology into the department, and building
partnerships with various organizational leaders to improve their financial
outcomes.
The successful candidate will possess integrity, maintain ethics and promote
the concept of doing the right thing. The individual must be approachable with
strong communication skills and comfortable at both the strategic and the detail
levels. The ideal person will be deadline oriented and also have excellent
follow through, a positive attitude, and be a self-starter
