The Senior Director of Nursing will enjoy reporting to the Vice President, Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer and will participate in defining the overall philosophy, objectives and leadership of MSMHC Nursing Services. This new leader will have the opportunity to lead, direct and support clinical nursing services, providing leadership to all clinical areas including Perioperative, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, Women’s Services, and the Float pool.
Additional opportunities for this new leader include collaboratively developing and operationalizing organizational plans to accomplish departmental, hospital and system goals and objectives; facilitating and maintaining quality Standards of Nursing Practice within the hospital; daily patient and staff rounding and engagement; and, the creation of exceptional, structured communication channels to ensure positive relations with and between patients, families, clinical staff and associates to ensure harmonious and effective relationships, positive experiences and exceptional results.
The successful candidate will bring a passion for leadership, learning and mentoring along with experience in successfully leading service lines and/or operations for their organization. Demonstrated experience in writing, implementing and continually improving upon policies, procedures and standards is required, along with a deep understanding of Joint Commissions Accreditation standards.
Additional requirements for this extraordinary career opportunity include a Masters Degree in Nursing, Hospital Administration, business or a related field along with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and 5 years of successful leadership experience in the acute hospital setting. Deep knowledge of and experience with Operating Room procedures and budgeting is required. Specialty Certification in Nursing Administration may be acquired within the first 12 months of hire.
